Fox News confronted with 'delicate' situation as Trump returns to White House: report
Once Donald Trump and his administration get up to speed taking over the reins of power in Washington, D.C., reporters for conservative Fox News will be put in the unique position of having to cover a multitude of former colleagues who will now be working directly for the president-elect.
According to a report from Michael M. Grynbaum of the New York Times, cable hosts like Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham won't have to adjust much since they deliver opinions, but the straight news reporters will be put on the spot.
As the report notes, "Never before has a single media organization exported so many alumni to a president’s day-one cabinet and staff," adding, "All of which augurs a new twist in the tempestuous relationship between Mr. Trump and Fox News, the Rupert Murdoch-controlled network that has been perhaps his most powerful booster in the media world, but also frequently the focus of his ire."

According to the Times, Jennifer Griffin, the network’s chief national security correspondent, will be put on the spot if former Fox host Pete Hegseth is approved to head up the Pentagon.
According to Jay Wallace, the president and executive editor of Fox News Media, viewers may see a difference in reporting from White House correspondent Peter Doocy.
After first stating "When push comes to shove, we will want answers to our questions on the issues of the day," the Times is reporting, "Mr. Wallace allowed that Mr. Doocy may downshift to a less adversarial style, but he attributed any changes to Mr. Trump’s relative openness with the media."
Doocy often felt the need to “throw some bait out there” to get President Joe Biden to engage with him, Wallace explained before adding that, in the case of Trump, "it may not be the exact same shouting, casting a line or forcing the president to turn around. But at its core, he’ll be looking for the same answers he would get from Biden.”
