Luke Littler soars to number one in darts rankings after World Championship win but Luke Humphries needn’t worry
LUKE LITTLER has soared to the number-one spot in the darts rankings after becoming the world champion.
However, Luke Humphries still remains the No1 ranked star in the world.
Luke Littler has moved to the top of the alternative world darts rankings measuring the last 200 legs[/caption] But Luke Humphries remains the official world No1[/caption]That is because the Nuke has moved clear at the top of the PDC’s alternative world rankings.
The official rankings take the total prize money earned from tournaments over the last two years.
By comparison, the alternative rankings look at the form of players over the last 200 legs played.
And that is where Littler has been crowned No1 after he averaged 102.18 during that period.
He remarkably also achieved a 46.36 per cent doubles rate, another metric no one can match.
Littler, who turns 18 on Tuesday, enjoyed a stellar end to 2024 as he won the Grand Slam of Darts and then the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.
The Warrington wizard has since competed in the Bahrain Darts Masters but failed to defend his crown there as he was eliminated by Gerwyn Price in the quarter-finals.
Gary Anderson ranks second in the alternative rankings with a high average of 99.07 and 38.64 per cent on doubles.
However, the official rankings have Littler in second place and Anderson down in 14th.
As it stands, Littler sits on £1,118,500 in prize money in the Order of Merit.
Meanwhile, Cool Hand Humphries has £1,804,250.
Humphries himself completes the top three in the alternative rankings, with the 29-year-old averaging 98.41 and 41.45 per cent on his doubles.
The Dutch Masters is the next major event of the year that will begin next Friday and conclude on Saturday.
