They posted on X: “Is it April Fools Day?”
And they followed it up with an Instagram post of Paul with the caption: “There is only 1 King of the land.”
Bridge retired from football in 2014 and took up boxing shortly after to keep fit.
He has had two charity boxing bouts, including against Made in Chelsea’s Spencer Matthew for Sport Relief in 2018 – winning on points.
Bridge, 44, has been linked with a move a move to Misfits Boxing, home to celebrity-style crossover bouts.
But few could have predicted it would be against co-founder KSI.
One fan fumed: “Absolutely ridiculous embarrassing!!!”

Another raged: “No one wants this s***.”
One slammed: “Tell me this is a joke?”
Another said: “We will not be watching.”
KSI, 31, has not returned since suffering defeat for the first time, losing a controversial decision to Tommy Fury, 25, in October 2023.
And he was linked with fights against ex-world champion Amir Khan, 38, and 9-2 professional boxer Harley Benn, 28.
But it looks as though he will instead face Premier League winner Bridge – despite fan outrage – with the bout targeted for March 29.
