‘Don’t do anything’ – UK Masters final delayed after Shaun Murphy attacked by wasp AGAIN before ref steps in
SHAUN MURPHY was bugged once again as he was attacked by a wasp for the second time this week.
At the start of the UK Masters final, Murphy spotted the flying critter moving about around the table.
A wasp was seen harassing Murphy[/caption]Murphy pointed out the wasp to the referee before he looked ready to step up to the table and play the opening shot in the game against Kyren Wilson.
But he caught the wasp in his gaze and continued to track it, delaying the start of the match.
Murphy was then seen moving away from the table, when the ref said: “On your back.”
The Magician then ducked to try and shake it off.
As he got to his corner he turned around and spotted it right behind him, prompting more weaving before waving a piece of cloth at the back of his head.
However, the referee then instructed him, “Don’t do anything”.
It seemed to briefly do the trick as the wasp moved away from Murphy, though not so far that he and the ref could not track it with their eyes.
With the wasp moving away from the table, play then began with Murphy finally able to break.
More to follow.
