Draymond Green leaves game with calf tightness
After just returning, no less.
It seems like every time the Golden State Warriors start to get healthy, they suffer another injury. Sometimes, those two things are even tied at the hip. That seemed to be the case on Saturday night, as the Warriors hosted Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards.
It was an exciting game for the Warriors, as they were welcoming back defensive ace and four-time All-Star Draymond Green, who had missed three consecutive games with both illness and a back injury. The Warriors had gone 1-2 in those games, and their defense had really struggled at times.
But the good vibes didn’t last long, because the return didn’t last long. Just three minutes into the game, Steve Kerr called a timeout, and Green walked off the court very gingerly. When the broadcast returned after the timeout, Gui Santos had entered the game, and Green was walking — still gingerly — to the locker room, accompanied by head trainer Rick Celebrini.

Before the end of the first quarter, the Warriors announced that Green left the game due to left calf tightness, and that he would not return. Here’s hoping he’s good to go for Monday’s game.
After getting out of his jersey and into street clothes, Green at some point returned to the Warriors bench. He was seen moving around and looking fairly natural as he cheered on his teammates and high-fived them at timeouts, so hopefully that means the injury is minor.
We’ll keep you updated as we get more information.
