Winter storm snow forecast for NY and NJ this weekend
NEW YORK (PIX11) – Parts of the tri-state are under winter storm watch by the National Weather Service this weekend.
Snow may start as early 10 a.m. Sunday morning and could bring two to eight inches of accumulation to parts of New York, according to PIX11 meteorologists.
Drivers should be cautious of snow-covered roads and hazardous travel from Sunday afternoon into the night, forecasters from the National Weather Service warned.
Flakes are expected to taper off around 10 p.m. Sunday night, making the way for arctic air to blow through the city on Monday, PIX11 meteorologists say.
Temperatures could drop to the single digits Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night with wind chills as low as -5 to -15 degrees, according to NWS.
