Brinkman stars with brace as Vedanta Kalinga Lancers cruise to 5-1 win over Delhi SG Pipers
Rourkela: The Vedanta Kalinga Lancers put up a stunning attacking display to cruise to an emphatic 5-1 win against Delhi SG Pipers in the Hero Hockey India League Men’s clash at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on Thursday. Nicholas Bandurak (11’), Arthur van Doren (36’), Thierry Brinkman (38’, 43’), and Gursahibjit Singh (45’) netted goals for Lancers, while Corey Weyer (46’) scored a solitary goal for Pipers.

Ranchi: Jocelyn Bartram saved three attempts to help the Odisha Warriors win the penalty shootout 3-2 after their Women’s Hero Hockey India League (2024-25) match against the Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers ended 1-1. Baljeet Kaur (8`) scored for the Odisha Warriors while Beauty Dungdung (16`) scored for the Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers.

Despite trained by former India coach Graham Reid, and mentored by PR Sreejesh, Delhi SG Pipers fail to impress in phase I of the ongoing Hero Hockey India League at Rourkela. In their seventh and last match of phase I they failed utterly, even conceding four goals in a quarter, before going down to Kalinga 5-1. All that the famed team could manage so far was a shoot out win on opening day.
Kalinga Lancers thump Delhi SG Pipers 5-1
Gursahibjit Singh completed the Lancers’ clinical display with a fifth goal in the 45th minute.

Late in the match against UP Rudras, Tamil Dragons’ star defender and drag-flicker Jip Janssen was hit on his left rib by the ball. There was immediate concern from everyone on the field, and the Dutchman missed the end of that match.
