Dunelm shoppers rush to buy winter gadget with 50% off that will help cut down energy bills
SHOPPERS are racing to get their hands on a winter laundry gadget at Dunelm that will help cut the cost of their energy bills.
The bargain item is essential for the chilly winter weather and has been slashed down in price, offering 50% off.
Dunelm is selling an extra large Heated Airer with Wings for just £40[/caption]The Sure Dri Extra Large Heated Airer with Wings is scanning for £40 instead of £80, meaning shoppers will save a massive £40 off the usual price.
This is not the heated air dryer that was recalled earlier this week.
With recent chilly temperatures and rainy weather, clothes tend to take much longer to dry in the winter.
Leaving them to steam on the radiator isn’t much of a solution, with the increasing cost of living and expensive energy bills.
And simply hanging your clothes out indoors can contribute to damp and mildew, which can cause trouble if you end up with mould.
But this essential laundry gadget could be the perfect solution.
One user, who left a five star review, commented: “I like the heated airer. It really helps with the quickly getting washing dried”.
The heated clothing rack will cost just under 6p an hour to run, which is a bargain compared to a tumble dryer, which can cost up to 68p per cycle, according to uSwitch.
That means if you use the airer for an hour it works out around nine times as cheap depending on your tariff.
Its also up to 50% bigger than standard winged airers but won’t take up too much room as it folds flat and clips for compact storage.
Dunelm claims it is “Perfect for sheets, towels, and more, it’s a must-have for hassle-free drying.”
The product is available both online and in-stores.
Dunelm offers a free click and collect service but for those looking to have it delivered, there is a minimum £3.95 delivery fee.
PRICE COMPARE
As much as we all love a bargain, it’s important to do your research and only buy what you need instead of being tempted by a good deal.
The Sun’s Fabulous team has tried and tested heated airers from well-known high-street brands, including this choice from Dunelm.
Aldi also offers a budget-friendly choice with its Heated Winged Airer, priced at £34.99.
Meanwhile, Lidl has brought back its popular Minky 12m Heated Airer for the same price, £34.99 – but it’s only available in-store.
Since Lidl doesn’t sell online, it’s worth calling your local branch to check availability before heading out.
If you’d rather shop from home, Amazon has a heated airer for £44.99, described as “ideal for drying and airing clothes and towels indoors.”
For those looking to upgrade, Argos offers the Minky Sure Dri Heat Pod Drying System.
This three-tier airer, complete with a cover to retain heat, is priced at £90 and promises to dry clothes even faster.
Of course, always remember to shop around when buying anything like this as you might find it cheaper elsewhere.

How to compare prices to get the best deal
JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn't mean it's always a good deal.
There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
Here are some that we recommend:
- Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
- Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
- Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
- CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
