Pursuit of suspect leads to crash and closure of I-71 South near Greenlawn Ave.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Access to Interstate 71 South, west of Downtown, Columbus, was shut down after a Friday morning police pursuit and crash.
According to Columbus police, one person was hospitalized after reportedly leading Franklin County Sheriff Office deputies and CPD officers on a pursuit, eventually leading to a crash on I-71 South, near Greenlawn Avenue.
The chase occurred at around 4 a.m. when deputies tried to make a traffic stop near Hollywood Casino. The suspect then reportedly rammed into a FCSO cruiser, then fled the area. The suspect eventually crashed into a semi-truck, prompting authorities to close the southbound exit ramps from I-71 to Greenlawn Ave.
Access to I-71 in both directions, from Interstate 70, was also closed, but reopened at around 5:30 a.m. Through traffic on the highway remained restricted until 6:40 a.m.
Police say the suspect was taken to an area hospital and is listed in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
