Water main break in Rotterdam closes Curry Road
ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A water main break began in Rotterdam on Thursday morning around 11 a.m. 511NY said Curry Road between Stuart Street and Altamont Avenue is closed in both directions.
There was a water main break in the same area on Wednesday causing the Schenectady County Department of Environmental Health to issue a boil water order. The order is in effect for homes and businesses on Curry Road between Altamont Avenue and Duglin Avenue, as well as all homes on Duglin.
Residents in the affected homes should not drink the water without boiling it first. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation.
