Oregon State pulls off upset win over #16 Gonzaga in overtime
CORVALLIS, Ore. (KOIN) -- It was the first sellout at Gill Coliseum since 2019, and it ended with the Oregon State student section rushing the floor.
Michael Rataj led OSU with a career-high 29 points as the Beavers pulled off the 97-89 upset win over #16 Gonzaga in overtime on Thursday night.
McNary grad Nate Kingz added 20 points for Oregon State (14-5, 4-2) in the win. Parsa Fallah was also in double figures with 16 points.
The Beavers shot 58.5% from the field on Thursday, their best shooting night since 2006.
Graham Ike led the Zags (14-5, 5-1) with 26 points, including hitting a triple with five seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Clackamas-alum Ben Gregg added 15 points for the Bulldogs.
It was Oregon State's first win over a ranked opponent since Jan. 25, 2024.
OSU is now 5-0 in home sellouts under head coach Wayne Tinkle. It was Gonzaga's first visit to Corvallis since 1991.
