Woman in 20s found dead and toddler seriously injured at home in Surrey
A woman in her 20s has died at a home in Surrey.
She was declared dead at the scene by officers called to the address on Woodthorpe Road in Ashford yesterday lunchtime following a report of concern for the welfare of those inside.
Officers also found a two-year-old girl ‘with very serious injuries’. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
There is not yet any further update on her condition.
A man in his 30s, who were known to the two victims, was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Detectives said there is not believed to be any wider risk to the community.
DCI Kimball Edey said: ‘This investigation is in its early stages and a team of specialist officers are working around the clock to gather as much information as possible.
‘Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victims at this unbelievably difficult time.’
