'Corruption!' Trump demands FBI retain 'all records' of shuttered diversity office
President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday night demanded the FBI retain documents on its recently axed division dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The massive law enforcement agency confirmed to Fox News on Thursday it "took steps" to close its Office of Diversity and Inclusion in recent weeks, effective December. The agency didn't explain its decision, which came amid an onslaught of right-wing attacks on DEI initiatives.
On Thursday, Trump pounced on the news.
"We demand that the FBI preserve and retain all records, documents, and information on the now closing DEI Office—Never should have been opened and, if it was, should have closed long ago. Why is it that they’re closing one day before the Inauguration of a new Administration? The reason is, CORRUPTION!"

ODI programs helped the FBI bring diverse candidates to its leadership pipeline and created mandatory diversity-related performance objectives for supervisors. It also provided DEI training to new employees.
MAGA allies celebrated its closure, including Charlie Kirk and Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).
"BREAKING: The FBI has officially SHUTTERED its DEI office according to Fox News. President Trump and Kash Patel are already putting up wins before taking power," wrote Kirk on
"The question is why were they allowed to be focused on DEI in the first place? The FBI should be focused on catching criminals, not winning participation trophies," Blackburn wrote on X.
