Building in downtown Topeka gets temporarily evacuated due possible gas leak
TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) temporary evacuated a building in downtown Topeka Thursday afternoon.
As of 4:32 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, the KHP issued an "all clear" for the downtown Topeka building. The Topeka Fire Department confirmed there is no gas leak.
Around 3:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, KHP sent an alert message that Mills Building located at 901 S. Kansas Avenue is being evacuated.
According to KHP, a gas leak is causing the evacuation. The severity is unknown at this time. More information is expected to be released; 27 News will provide updates as they become available.
