Shawnee Co. Parks and Rec looks for seasonal workers
SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) - Shawnee County Parks and Recreation (SCP+R) is looking to hire seasonal workers for the warm months of 2025.
Sean Zears with SCP+R announced in a news release on Jan. 16 the department is looking to recruit hundreds to fill positions in the warmer months. Zears said there are many seasonal, part-time, intermittent and full-time jobs available.
"Positions range from lifeguards, park maintenance and golf course maintenance staff,
concessions staff and cashiers, and even drivers for the Gage Park mini-train," Zears said.
The pay for the jobs with SCP+R ranges from $10-$20 per hours depending on each person's experience. According to the news release, these jobs are good for high school and college students, retirees, teachers and people with schedules tying to an academic year.
To apply for a lifeguard position, applicants must be 15-years-old. Most of the positions require applicants to be at least 16-years-old, while certain some jobs have a minimum age requirement of 18-years-old. For information about applying, click here, or call (785) 251-6800.
