Tottenham Hotspur have now set their sights on a young forward who is making waves in French football this season, but the Lilywhites face competition from closer to home for the player, including from one London rival.
Are Spurs considering a Randal Kolo Muani alternative?
The Randal Kolo Muani saga was a long one for Tottenham Hotspur, but they ended up coming out on the losing side. Juventus are on the cusp of announcing the PSG star on a loan deal this month.
It looks like Spurs did not put all their eggs in the Kolo Muani basket and have identified another Ligue 1 forward as an alternative.
Fabrizio Romano has also reported that he is confident Tottenham have other names on their list to go for over the coming weeks.
Tottenham one of three PL clubs eyeing Evann Guessand
The Daily Mail report that Tottenham see Nice’s Evann Guessand as a potential option to strengthen their forward line this summer.
The pacy forward, who can operate across the front three, has scored eight times and picked up four assists in 17 league games this season, and his exploits have allegedly also brought him to the attention of Bournemouth.
However, the club showing the most interest according to the report is West Ham, who have reportedly conducted an extensive scouting mission on Guessand over the last few weeks.
How much would Evan Guessand cost Tottenham?
The Mail make it clear that a deal for Guessand will not be easy to do mid-season as Nice are challenging for Champions League qualification and have no intention of weakening their squad.
It is also pointed out that the 23-year-old only signed a new contract back in August, with the Ligue 1 side thus well protected. The report asserts that it would take offers of more than £20m to even test Nice’s resolve.
