Rudy Giuliani reaches 'global settlement' to end fight with defamed election workers
Rudy Giuliani has reportedly reached a "global settlement" in his fight with two women he defamed with election interference claims
Legal analyst Andrew Torrez, a lawyer and podcast host, posted a screenshot of a letter Thursday to Judge Lewis Liman stating that Giuliani had reached the "global settlement" with Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss.
Rudy Giuliani did not show up for court on Thursday, instead posting a photo of a dog at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
Giuliani was last year ordered to pay the women $146 million in damages in a defamation lawsuit. The former mayor of New York City was being forced to sell off some of his most prized possessions in an effort to make the payment.

"This would 'result in the conclusion of all litigation,'" the letter says. Torrez said the conclusion "presumably includes the underlying judgment and the second defamation case."
While Giuliani lost the first case, he has repeated the same defamation, leading to additional litigation.
"This means Rudy and his lawyer, Joey Badabing Cammarata, are going to evade further sanctions, contempt orders, and/or bench warrants for their no-show at trial today and continuous disregard of the court's orders," said Torrez on Blue Sky.
He noted that the terms aren't clear, but that Freeman and Moss have "top-notch lawyers" and he thinks they'll end up with the "most amount of money they possibly could." Otherwise, he said, the women would likely spend "years" trying to squeeze every hidden dime out of Giuliani.
"But if you wanted to see consequences for someone who never once behaved in good faith in court, you'll have to keep looking," Torrez complained.
