‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ to premiere this summer: Watch the steamy new teaser video
Starz got the blood of Outlander fans pumping on Thursday.
The network announced that its upcoming Outlander spin-off series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, will premiere sometime this summer. Watch the steamy new teaser trailer below.
“Without you, I am adrift,” whispers Jeremy Irvine‘s Henry Beauchamp at the end of the 40-second tease as he and Hermione Corfield‘s Julia Moriston touch foreheads together. The actors portray the young and very much-in-love parents of Outlander‘s Claire Beauchamp (four-time Golden Globe nominee Caitríona Balfe).
The smitten parents of Jamie Fraser (two-time Gold Derby Award winner Sam Heughan) also play an integral part in Outlander: Blood of My Blood. Harriet Slater takes on the role of his mother, Ellen MacKenzie, while Jamie Roy is his father, Brian Fraser.
These couples’ stories “unfold across time” in the romance epic teases the network. “From the battlefields of World War I to the rugged Highlands of 18th century Scotland, two fated love stories must defy the forces that seek to tear them apart, intersecting in surprising and unforeseen ways.”
Other characters (and cast members) in Outlander: Blood of My Blood include Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser (Rory Alexander) and Mrs. Fitz (Sally Messham); Ellen’s three siblings, Colum MacKenzie (Séamus McLean Ross), Dougal MacKenzie (Sam Retford), and Jocasta Cameron (Sadhbh Malin); legal advisor Ned Gowan (Conor MacNeill); and Brian’s father Simon Fraser, the Lord Lovat (Tony Curran).
The teaser video will be shown on Starz during the Outlander Season 7 finale on Friday, Jan. 17. The main series has just finished filming its last 10 episodes for Season 8, which will be released later.
Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling book series inspires the Outlander television franchise. The original program is a four-time Emmy nominee for score (2015), costumes (2016 and ’18), and production design. The second half of Season 7 will be eligible at the 2025 Emmys.
