THE LOWDOWN
David Gray’s side come into this one off the back of a seven-match unbeaten run – stretching back to mid-December.
Within that, we have picked up 17 points in the league – which has moved us off the foot of the table and into the top six.
Our attention switches to the cup this weekend as we host Clydebank in the Fourth Round of the Scottish Cup; kick-off at 3pm on Saturday 18 January.
The Bankies entered the competition in the Preliminary Rounds and have beaten St Andrews United (7-0), Girvan FC (3-1), Keith FC (0-3) and most recently Buckie Thistle (2-0) in the Third Round.
TEAM NEWS
Nicky Cadden went off injured in the first half of our 3-1 victory over Motherwell with a suspected broken nose. The Hibs wing-back is seeing a specialist on the issue and will likely be a doubt for this weekend.
The good news is that both Mykola Kuharevich and Kieron Bowie are progressing well with their respective injuries and could return to play this weekend.
Gray will provide a full injury update on both of them and the latest on Elie Youan, Joe Newell and Marvin Ekpiteta when he speaks to the media on Friday afternoon.
CLYDEBANK FC
Technically, this will be the first time we have faced the newly reformed Phoenix club, Clydebank FC – after the former Clydebank team was bought out by Airdrie in 2002.
Led by Clydebank supporters, the club re-established in 2003 joining the West Region of the Junior Football League structure.
The Bankies are currently top of the West of Scotland Football League having picked up 26 points from 10 games and remain unbeaten in the league this season.
One player to watch out for is Clydebank forward, Nicky Little – the 33-year-old has scored four goals in the Scottish Cup already and is the competition's joint top scorer.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The last time the two sides met was in the Scottish Cup Fourth Round in February 2000.
The Hibees were held to a 1-1 draw at Easter Road with Paul Hartley cancelling out Lee Gardner’s opener in the second half. Both sides finished the match with 10-men and the game was replayed 10 days later at Cappielow.
In the replay, Alex McLeish’s Hibees proved too strong for the Bankies – running out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Dirk Lehmann, Stuart Lovell and Franck Sauzée. That fixture turned out to be the last time Clydebank played a Scottish top-flight Club!
