Explosion occurs in Mazar-e-Sharif, Balkh Province
Local sources in Balkh province, reported that an explosion in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital, has resulted in two deaths and eight injuries.
The sources indicated that the explosion occurred around evening on Wednesday, January 15, in the Mandawi area located in the second district of Mazar-e-Sharif.
According to the sources, the sound of ambulance sirens was immediately heard from the scene after the explosion.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
