Great Barrington holds public hearing on proposed bridge replacement
GREAT BARRINGTON Mass. (NEWS10) -- Transportation officials in Massachusetts held a public hearing on Wednesday on a bridge replacement project in Berkshire County. The state is looking to replace a temporary bridge carrying Division Street over the Housatonic River in Great Barrington.
The total cost of the project would be $11 million. Federal aid would fund the majority of the project; MassDOT would fund the rest.
Officials said construction would require a full bridge closure with traffic detours. They expect the project to last two years if it starts in Fall 2026.
The public can email comments about the project to massdotprojectmanager@dot.state.ma.us.
