Actress Amy Robbins is reprising her role as Christina, Daisy’s mother and filming is set to begin soon.
The pair have a tense and fiery relationship as mother and daughter but Daisy might need her support now that she’s pregnant.
A source told The Mirror: “Christina’s return certainly causes drama and she’s going to be ruffling some feathers throughout her time on the Cobbles.
“It’s a brilliant storyline for Christina and Daisy in what will be some of Charlotte’s final months on screen.
“It’ll be sad to say Daisy leave the show, but we’ve got a few months of Christina causing all kinds of chaos before then.
“The cast are thrilled to welcome Amy back to the show in what will no doubt be a big storyline for the pair.”
Amy, who is the aunt of TV star Emily Atack, first stepped onto the Cobbles back in January 2023 to attend Daisy’s wedding to Daniel Osbourne.
She has also appeared in other big dramas including The Royal, Holby City and Casualty.
Meanwhile in another spoiler, The Sun revealed that Daisy will be rushed to hospital next week in Coronation Street as her exit storyline begins.
The barmaid – who is played by actress Charlotte Jordan in the ITV soap – will be leaving Weatherfield later this year in a major storyline.
The Sun exclusively revealed how Charlotte had quit the soap after four years as Coronation Street faces a crisis of star exits and money problems.
And now with Daisy pregnant with either ex Daniel Osbourne or new boyfriend Kit Green’s baby, things are set to take a turn.
Next week, Daniel tells Daisy he wants her to do a DNA test as he needs to know if she’s carrying his baby or not.
Corrie cash crisis: shock exits for 2025
ITV bosses are locked in a battle to save the cash-strapped soap.
This means that a number of stars have either been axed from or have abandoned the long-running serial drama.
Colson Smith – Craig Tinker
The character of Craig Tinker has been axed by bosses after 14 years. After he was told of the news in Autumn 2024, Colson Smith confirmed that would be written out of the show with scenes to air later this year. Craig’s on-screen mum, Beth Tinker, also left the show in the summer when actress Lisa George was written out from the role.
Sue Cleaver – Eileen Grimshaw
After 25 years playing Eileen Grimshaw, former I’m A Celebrity campmate Sue Cleaver will quit the show. The Sun on Sunday reported in January that she’s already begun to film her exit scenes. However the character will not be killed off in case Sue opts to make a return in the future.
Luca Toolan – Mason Radcliffe
Bosses decided to axe the teenage character after just 16 months after he first joined the show. Recent scenes saw Mason stabbed by his criminal brothers after his pal Dylan brought a knife in an attempt to defend him.
Sue Devaney – Debbie Webster
In November 2024, we revealed that Debbie Webster is set to be killed off after 40 years on the cobbles. The character will die as part of a heartbreaking long-running dementia storyline.
Charlotte Jordan – Daisy Midgeley
The actress became the fifth star to leave Coronation Street in just one month. We revealed that she will bow out of the ITV soap later this year after four years on-screen. Charlotte told sources that she’s hungry to see what other opportunities await.
Shelley King – Yasmeen Metcalfe
The actress has played Yasmeen Metcalfe on the cobbles for the past 11 years and we revealed in January that she finished filming her final scenes. This follows the departure of her on-screen partner Stu Carpenter.
Later, Daisy books the DNA test and insists Daniel go with her.
Back home, Daniel keeps quiet about where he’s been but is shocked when Bethany wants him to consider a trial move with her to London.
Then Bethany finds out that Daisy is pregnant and assumes the father is Kit.
Later, Daisy receives the result of the DNA test. She reads it, but then deletes it and tells Jenny that the father of her baby is irrelevant and the result shall remain a secret leaving Jenny utterly stunned.
