PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police are releasing new details about the suspected hit-and-run that happened in Battle Ground on Sunday morning.
The Battle Ground Police Department said the suspect is still at large but they've released new descriptions of the involved truck. In addition, authorities said the victim is still in critical condition at a local hospital.
According to police, the hit-and-run happened in the 3300 block of West Main Street.
"Investigators believe the victim was struck sometime before 8:00 AM, while walking on the north side of West Main Street, heading westbound, near the entrance of the former VCA Animal Hospital office," the Battle Ground Police Department said in a press release. "The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2020–2025 Chevrolet Silverado truck, model 2500 or 3500."
The color of the truck is not known but "it is likely to have damage to its passenger-side mirror," police said.
The Battle Ground Police Department also released stock photos of the suspected truck model as well as a close-up picture of the mirror. However, they clarified the photos are not actual images of the suspect vehicle, just the truck model.
Police said they've identified the victim, who is a 45-year-old African American woman. However, authorities are not publicly releasing her identity since she's still in critical condition.
