Stillwater mobile home park residents without water for weeks
STILLWATER, Okla. (KFOR) — Imagine not having running water at your home for almost two weeks. That's the reality for several people at a mobile home park home in Stillwater.
People living in Crestview Mobile Home Park said they've had little to no water for at least two weeks. They said instead, they have to go to the leasing office to shower and use the restroom.
"We would just want running water for once. We don't want to go anymore without it," said Carol Tindel, a resident. "The water kept getting lower and lower and then we didn't have any for the last few days, and we still really had no water."
Crestview told residents they can use the water inside their front office.
"We haven't been able to have the water to do our laundry, to do anything and to do the dishes and it piles up when we have to go up to the office to be able to take our showers up there and, to get water from up there to just to have in our place," said Tindel.
The City of Stillwater told News 4 it's on the park to fix this.
We reached out to the property management company and they sent us the following statement.
Roots Management Group, which took ownership of Crestview in April of 2019, is actively addressing the current water and pipe freezing issues affecting one section of the community.
Crestview, a neighborhood of 268 homes, is experiencing low water pressure in one area, impacting approximately 33 homes. The community, built in the 1970s, was not originally designed to handle the extreme cold temperatures we are experiencing in Oklahoma today.
To better understand the situation, a plumber was called in to assess the issue and discovered that, in some areas, the water lines under the homes are not buried deep enough to prevent freezing. Roots Management Group is taking immediate steps to address this and is working with the plumber on a plan for long-term solutions. Homes with galvanized pipes are experiencing the greatest impact, while homes with PVC piping are generally not facing the same challenges.
In November and December, our maintenance team applied heat tape and took other preventative measures to help winterize the rental properties. We also distributed winterization tips to all residents, encouraging everyone to prepare for the cooler weather. Our team continues to go around the community, checking that these winterization efforts are holding up and making any necessary repairs to ensure they remain effective.
To further support residents during this cold snap, we are offering the use of the showers at the Crestview office and providing complimentary bottled water for anyone in need. We had proactively reached out to residents in October with helpful cold weather maintenance tips and are doing everything we can to assist during this time, ensuring the comfort and safety of our community.
Thank you for your understanding as we work through this challenging situation together. If you have any concerns or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Tindel said she just wants the issue resolved for good.
"We would like to have something fixed, you know, to where we can actually have water to go to the bathroom and not have to go is like an outhouse," Tindel.
