Police said they initiated a traffic stop on Ring Road in Guilderland when the driver put the car in drive and allegedly accelerated toward one of the officers. Ultimately, the driver collided with a police patrol vehicle, per Guilderland Police.
It is alleged that after the crash the driver and passenger fled on foot because the car was inoperable. Both suspects were arrested after a short foot pursuit.
A DMV search showed that the car was stolen out of Schenectady. Swift and Keener were arraigned in Guilderland Town Court on Tuesday. Swift was placed in Albany County Jail and Keener was released but is due back in court at a later date.
