Burnt Hills, Glenville businesses vandalized, suspect identified
BURNT HILLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A teen has been identified as the suspect in a string of graffiti vandalism in Saratoga and Schenectady Counties. Glenville Police said the affected businesses in Burnt Hills, Glenville, and Ballston are not seeking family court charges in hopes of the 16-year-old helping the businesses clean up the damage.
After compiling video footage of the suspect, the Burnt Hills Ballston Lake School's resource officer helped identify the suspect. The teen admitted to the vandalism when interviewed by police.
Businesses like the Burnt Hills Café and The Taco Shop and abandoned buildings were vandalized over the weekend in the hamlet of Burnt Hills, per the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office. Glenville Police said there was also a Saratoga County Sheriff's investigation into similar vandalism in Ballston in addition to four locations in Glenville.
Captain Daniel Morley said that the spray paint on the buildings appears to be a "tag" of some sort.
