My husband pays me £2.5k in ‘woman tax’ every year… it’s compensation for childbirth but trolls are NOT impressed
A MUM has taken the internet by storm after revealing her husband allegedly pays her an eye-watering £2.5k every year in ”woman tax”.
Going through pregnancy is by no means an easy task – which is why mum Camilla has got her husband to financially compensate for giving birth to their kids.
The web was left divided after mum Camilla revealed her husband was paying her ‘woman tax’ for giving birth to his kids[/caption] Camilla claimed that her partner was giving her £85 twice a month and she was using the money to fund her manicure and pedicure[/caption]According to Camilla, her hubby pays her £85 twice a month, which works out to around a whopping £2,500 a year.
In a video shared on TikTok, the beauty lover explained: ”The tax is to compensate that I have to have a period every single month.
”I’ve had two brutal pregnancies where I vomited most days – and then I had two C-sections.”
According to the NHS, a caesarean section, or C-section, is an operation to deliver your baby through a cut made in your tummy and womb.
The cut is usually made across your stomach, just below the bikini line.
A caesarean is a major operation and it carries a number of risks, so it’s usually only done if it’s the safest option for you and your baby.
While many may assume that this was all Camilla’s idea, the mum claimed that it was actually her hubby behind the monthly ”tax”.
According to the blonde fashionista, who regularly shares wholesome family content on her page, she uses the money to fund her twice-a-month manicures and pedicures.
”It costs around £85 per time. I cannot explain how happy getting a mani and pedi makes me – and it really does make up for that week of bleeding,” said Camilla, all chuffed with her fresh Valentine’s Day-themed nails.
Since being posted on the platform, the video has racked up more than a staggering 200k views in less than a day – with a mixed bag of responses.
Whilst some praised Camilla’s hubby for forking out nearly £100 every month to treat his wife, not everyone was as impressed.
One troll wondered: ”Do you have to pay man tax because he has to listen to you?”
Another reckoned: ”My man pays all for this anyways. Every man should pay for their wife’s babymom gf partner regardless.”
Someone else thought: ”He is a simp. Women have far easier lives.”
How do women's figures change after giving birth?
TO SAY the body changes during pregnancy and childbirth is an understatement.
Throughout the nine months it takes for the body to bring a baby into the world, it goes through some huge physical changes.
Considering how different the body looks during pregnancy, it’s not surprising that there are some lasting changes.
And it some ways, it never does, Doctor Rachel Ward, a GP at Woodlands Medical Centre, Derby, said.
1. Wider ribcage and hips
“During pregnancy in order to accommodate a growing baby and prepare for giving birth, our body produces a hormone called relaxin,” she explained.
Relaxin works by increasing the flexibility and movement in our joints and ligaments.
“Many women find that after pregnancy the shape of their pelvis and ribcage remains different,” Dr Rachel said.
It is common to need a different bra size due to a change in chest circumference, the expert said.
“This is a reminder of the changes your body made to accommodate your baby and is nothing to be worried about,” she added.
2. Change in skin colour
During pregnancy, most women experience skin changes as it stretches to accommodate your bump and enlarging breasts.
“It is not uncommon to develop stretch marks.
“Though they will often fade over time and become a shiny pale colour, depending on your skin tone they will not go away completely,” Dr Rachel said.
“Some people do not like the way stretch marks look but they are an incredibly common change that we see in many people,” she added.
3. A change in breast shape
Breasts increase in size during pregnancy as the breast tissue prepares to produce milk.
And shortly after birth they will start to produce milk and become swollen, Dr Ward explained.
“If you choose to breast feed or not, it is likely that the shape, size and way your breasts look and feel will be different after pregnancy compared to before,” she added.
“This is not a problem but it is important that we do learn what the new normal is for our breasts so we can stay breast aware and pick up and changes that could be cancer.”
Simp is an internet slang term describing someone who shows excessive sympathy and attention toward another person, typically to someone who does not reciprocate the same feelings, in pursuit of affection or a sexual relationship.
Brilliantly hitting back at the meanies, Camilla said in the best response possible: ”I’d like to see a man suffer all that women experience bringing children into the world.”
Despite the harsh comments, the response was mainly positive – and loads of women flocked to tag their boyfriends and husbands.
”Get this on his fyp [For You Page] not mine,” one begged TikTok.
Another wondered: ”Why is this not more normal??”
”god you are so blessed to have a man that thinks like that,” someone else chimed in.
