Frankie Bridge’s 94p hack to keep feet ‘toasty’ warm in winter – you’ll feel cosy for HOURS and might even get ‘too hot’

WITH cold weather battering the UK, if you’re looking for ways to keep warm without breaking the bank, you’ve come to the right place.

There’s nothing worse than freezing cold toes – and whilst Dunelm’s £10 foot warmer is a ‘treat for cold feet’ when lounging around at home, if you’re after something that will keep you warm when out and about, we’ve found just the thing.

You can get 15 in a pack, working out at just 94p each for ‘hours’ of heat[/caption]

Not only will you feel cosy for hours, but you might even get ‘too hot’ – and The Saturdays icon Frankie Bridge, 36, is a fan.

Thanks to Frankie’s clever trick, your feet will feel ‘toasty’ warm this winter, whatever the temperature

And if you’re on a budget, fear not, as Frankie’s secret weapon against the cold will cost you just 94p.

The mum-of-two, who is married to football legend Wayne Bridge, 44, confirmed that when she goes out in winter, she uses The Heat Company Toewarmers

Posting on social media, on her Instagram stories, Frankie shared a snap with the caption: “This morning‘s match called for heat reinforcements.

Cosy socks and Uggs alone just wasn’t cutting it!”

Attached to her socks were the handy little toewarmers, which you can order from Amazon now.

A pack of 15 toewarmers will cost you £14.16, working out at just 94p each.

At 9cm by 7cm, they’re designed to fit any shoe size comfortably and are perfect for slipping into your footwear without adding any bulk.

The Heat Company’s Toewarmers promise up to eight hours of heat and to activate them, simply open the packet, stick them to the bottom of your socks, and let the air-activated magic begin.

For an even quicker heat-up, The Heat Company’s website advises: “Put both warmers together in your pocket for activation. They will warm up even faster!”

The affordable toewarmers will provide instant heat within minutes, making them a must-have for popping in your bag just in case the chilly weather catches you off guard.

Cheap gadgets to help you stay warm

MARTIN Lewis' MoneySavingExpert shared six gadgets that can help you keep the heating off but stay warm.

Heating “the human not the home” means you warm yourself instead of turning on the heating and heating the whole house.

This can save money on your heating bill and means you don’t have to sit in the cold.

  • USB gloves – initial cost £10, cost to run less than 1p an hour
  • Heated insoles – initial cost £10, cost to run less than 1p an hour
  • USB hand warmers – initial cost £15, cost to run less than 1p an hour
  • Electric gilet – initial cost £50 (including battery pack), cost to run less than 1p an hour
  • Microwaveable wheat bag – initial cost £4, cost to run less than 1p per hours
  • Reusable hand warmers – initial cost £5 for a pair, cost to run less than 1p per hour

Shoppers beam

And it’s not just Frankie saying they’re fab – Amazon shoppers are loving them too.

The toewarmers have racked up thousands of five star reviews, and have an average rating of 4.3 out of five.

My toes no longer feel like they are going to fall off lol. Buy them. They are worth it

Amazon shopper

One shopper shared: “These were great. We went out in the evening to some illuminations and fireworks. Our feet were toasty, not too hot at all. We stuck them to the top of our toes on top of socks.

“They lasted well, we came home after six hours and they were still just as warm. Looking forward to winter outings without cold feet.”

5 ways to keep your house warm in winter

Property expert Joshua Houston shared his tips.

1. Curtains

“Windows are a common place for the outside cold to get into your home, this is because of small gaps that can let in air so always close your curtains as soon as it gets dark,” he said.

This simple method gives you an extra layer of warmth as it can provide a kind of “insulation” between your window and curtain.

2. Rugs

“Your floor is another area of your home where heat can be lost and can make your home feel chilly,” he continued. “You might notice on cold days, that your floor is not nice to walk on due to it freezing your feet.

“Add rugs to areas that don’t already have a carpet, this provides a layer of insulation between your bare floor and the room above.”

3. Check your insulation

Check your pipes, loft space, crawlspaces and underneath floorboards.

“Loose-fill insulation is very good for this, and is a more affordable type of insulation, with a big bag being able to be picked up for around £30,” Joshua explained.

4. Keep your internal doors closed

“Household members often gather in one room in the evening, and this is usually either the kitchen or living room,” Joshua said.

“This means you only have to heat a small area of your home, and closing the doors keeps the heat in and the cold out.”

5. Block drafts

Don’t forget to check cat flaps, chimneys and letterboxes, as they can let in cold air if they aren’t secure.

Another buyer wrote: “Initial impression was good, they quickly achieved good heat, almost too hot, but soon settled to a nice steady warmth.

“They were still warm when I removed them six hours later. Highly recommend.”

Whilst someone else beamed: “I work in a chilled environment between 4C and 0C. Before I had these I would feel terribly cold.

“Now I put a pair of trainer socks on and stick these to my toes and put a thick pair of socks over the top and have really noticed the difference.

“My toes no longer feel like they are going to fall off lol. Buy them. They are worth it.”
