Groom surprises unsuspecting bride with her first-ever Bills tickets
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Coming off a big wild-card win, many Bills fans have already secured their tickets to this week’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. One member of Bills Mafia got her tickets in remarkable fashion -- in a video that instantly went viral.
Olivia Doiron received the tickets when her husband Sean Smith surprised her during their wedding vows at their ceremony last month.
“I just fell in love with Josh Allen and his ability to run the ball and get it done for his team,” Doiron said.
“She is ready to run through a table for them. I enjoy and like the team a lot, they are my favorite team for sure, but she is a die-hard,” Smith said.
The couple from Halifax, Nova Scotia knew each other in high school before reconnecting after college. While the gift was a surprise, it lived up to their history as a couple.
“I'm always trying to beat him in getting him the better gift and I never win because he is so good," Doiron said. "When he says I have a bonus gift, I almost roll my eyes because that's him. He's always throwing in another thing to surprise me.”
“I thought this was going to be a really, really good idea, just sort of like tucking it in there. Did not know that it was going to be quite this reaction,” Smith said.
After watching many games over the years from the comfort of their home alongside their two dogs, this will be their first-ever Bills game at Highmark Stadium. The tickets were placeholders -- the only thing Olivia had to do was choose which game she wanted to go to, and Sean would find seats. With the playoffs in full swing, it’s now or never for the duo.
“He was like, we (could) play K.C. next but we aren't guaranteed that next game. So it's this weekend or nothing,” said Doiron. "I might have to go through a table."
