Little Mix Jade Thirlwall sends fans wild with dig at Simon Cowell in new single as she drops latest video
JADE Thirlwall has sent fans wild with a new dig at Simon Cowell in her latest single It Girl.
The 32-year-old dropped the visualiser for her latest track last week and fans were quick to spot the nod to her time on The X Factor.
Before being put into Little Mix and winning the show in 2011, Jade failed to make it past the audition stages in 2008 and 2010.
The year Jade made it through – alongside Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson – Simon, 65, wasn’t on the judging panel.
And fans were quick to spot that the last line in It Girl is ‘it’s a no from me’ – words regularly uttered by The X Factor judge.
Commenting on apparent dig, one wrote: “The ‘It’s a no from me’ reference in the end is a masterpiece!”
Another said: “omg is that Simon Cowell shade.”
Someone replied: “I think it is shade to Simon Cowell because before Little Mix Jade auditioned 3 Times the first & second time she was rejected then the third time she was put in to Little Mix.”
And a fourth added: “The ‘It’s a no from me’ reference in the end is a masterpiece!”
Little Mix – who went on hiatus in 2021 – split from Simon’s record label Syco in 2018.
And in her debut solo single Angel of My Dreams, Jade appeared to take a savage swipe at her ex-boss.
Some of the opening lyrics were: “You only care about money, sellin’ my soul to a psycho, they say I’m so lucky. Better act like you’re lucky, honey.”
Responding to the apparent shade at the time, a rep for Simon Cowell told the Daily Mail: “The entire team who worked incredibly hard behind the scenes with Little Mix to help make the group a success would, I’m sure, always continue to wish them solo success.”
