Sam Thompson accuses best friend Pete Wicks of ‘going off radar’ amid his split with Zara McDermott
SAM Thompson has accused his best friend Pete Wicks of going off the radar amid his split from Zara McDermott.
Made In Chelsea star Sam and his now-ex Zara McDermott, who shot to fame on Love Island, recently ended their five-year-long relationship.

“It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways; they still care and have a lot of love for each other.
“But after a tough year of working hard at their romance, they have split and will be focusing on their individual careers going forward into 2025.
“There has been no scandal or fallout between them, it’s just the result of a difficult year, where they both had to spend a lot of time focused on their own projects,” the source close to the couple spilled to MailOnline.
And amid Sam and Zara’s split, the Made in Chelsea hunk has accused his best pal of going off the radar and ditching him in recent weeks.
On the pair’s Staying Relevant podcast, Pete opened by asking his pal: “What’s been going on?”
Sam then admitted that it has been a “real tough month”.
“I went off radar for a couple of weeks, I put my phone in a drawer and disappeared,” Pete said, seemingly admitting that he had been absent amid Sam’s brutal split.
Sam then joked: “I’ve been going through some stuff Pete and I called you 15 times.”
SAM WAS ‘ON THE EDGE’
Pete replied: “I did feel bad, I went off radar and I didn’t realise you were effectively on the edge over Christmas.”
“It didn’t feel right! ‘Pete was in a really nice retreat somewhere in the world, having a great time, sitting in a hot tub being really wholesome,” Sam said, seemingly contrasting that to his “tough” time recently.
Pete went on to explain how he did call Sam, to which Sam said “it was like being in a Christmas tomb”.
The Made in Chelsea star told his former TOWIE star pal: “I’ve been sat in the house surrounded by Christmas stuff and I don’t feel Christmasy.”
“I had calls from our PR, our team, everyone saying you had nonstop spoken to them over the Christmas period and said please can you call him, please can you call him,” Pete added.
“So within 30 seconds after he’d gone through his stuff we just moved on and he started laughing, sometimes what you need is someone not to enable your depression,” he went on.
SAM AND ZARA WERE ‘LIVING SEPARATE LIVES’
Earlier this month, after Sam and Zara’s split, it was reported that the pair were living separate lives for months.
“Although they have known it’s been over for a while, Sam and Zara are both devastated and heartbroken that they couldn’t make it work as they had so much love for each other,” a source shared to OK! Magazine in the wake of their split.
The source added that when the couple “had problems” back in the summer, they “vowed to give it one more try” and hoped that they could “work through their issues”.
But the pair’s hopes of remaining together were dashed when it was proven to be impossible due to them being a “different stages in their lives”.
A source close to Zara recently told The Sun on Sunday: “It’s been a tough time for Zara. The trip to Paris just helped her get away from it all.
“Zara just wants to try to focus on work and get herself together. They split some time before it officially emerged and she is now living apart from him.”
