Benidorm star looks unrecognisable in hit detective series as he shares throwback to ‘wild’ ITV show
A BENIDORM favourite looks completely different from his time on the sun-soaked show after landing a role in a top new drama.
The star looked seriously grown up during his most recent role which could not have been further from life by the pool on the Costa del Sol.

He remained with the programme over the next two years before it eventually drew to a close.
But these days, fans have seen him playing a completely different part to the cheeky chappie on the show thanks to his role in Channel 5’s Vera-rival, police drama, Ellis.
Josh has been playing the part of DI Archie Dent on the programme which kicked off to rave reviews towards the back end of last year.
It marked a new direction for Josh with many fans left excited to see him playing a character very different from that of the Benidorm role that brought him to fame.
Whilst fans were left loving his performance in Ellis, it did not take long before they were left eagerly asking about the chance of a Benidorm reboot as they insisted it was time to “bring it back”.
In a recent post online, Josh admitted that it would be 10 years this April that he filmed his first ever scenes for the programme.
He said: “9 years ago today the Dawsons made their debut on Benidorm.
“It was 10 years ago in April we started filming it that is wild.”
He accompanied his words with a shot of the Dawson clan from their first episode on the programme.
The post was littered with comments suggesting the show should be revived as one said: “Wish they would bring this show back.”
Another added: “About time for a reunion”
As a third penned: “Wish they bring it back.”
Before a fourth commented: “I miss Benidorm, it was so British.”
Just last year, Josh sparked hopes of a reunion after he met-up with two of his co-stars for a catch-up – six years on from the show.
He beamed alongside Steve Edge and Selina Griffiths for the reunion selfie.
Steve played Josh’s on-screen dad while Selina portrayed Pauline Maltby.
Posting on X, formerly Twitter, Josh said: “Benidorm reunion by the sea not as warm but still as lovely.”
