Who will the Eagles play in the NFC Divisional Round?
The Eagles held off the Packers in the Wild Card Round. We break down what’s next for them in the Divisional Round of the 2025 NFL Playoffs.
Sunday 8 p.m. Wild Card update: The Eagles will face the winner of Monday’s game between the Vikings and Rams in the Divisional Round next weekend. The Commanders upset the Buccaneers, and as the worst remaining seed, will face the Lions in the Divisional Round. Since Vikings-Rams is the last game of the week, this likely means the Eagles will be playing this game on Sunday.
The Philadelphia Eagles are headed back to the Divisional Round for the second time in three seasons. The No. 2 seed Eagles beat the No. 7 seed Green Bay Packers 22-10 in the Wild Card Round. Jalen Hurts threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns, while Saquon Barkley had 123 total yards. The Eagles defense finished the day with three interceptions.
The Eagles could know their opponent by the end of Sunday night, but also might have to wait until Monday night. If the No. 3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the No. 6 Washington Commanders on Sunday evening, the Eagles would host the Bucs next weekend. If the Commanders upset the Bucs, the Eagles would play the winner of Monday’s game between the No. 4 Los Angeles Rams and No. 5 Minnesota Vikings. The former matchup would likely be next Saturday and the latter would likely be next Sunday.
This marks the seventh playoff appearance in eight seasons for the Eagles and the fourth time in that stretch they have reached at least the Divisional Round. Last year, they lost in the Wild Card Round. The year prior they advanced to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
