Ali Larter Moved Her Children to Idaho to ‘Raise’ Them a Certain ‘Way'
Like quite a few celebrities in Hollywood, Ali Larter decided to move her family out of there; but this time, to a much quieter life in Idaho.
During a recent conversation on Jan 10 during Live With Kelly and Mark via UsMagazine, Larter revealed why she and her family of four moved out of the hustle and bustle, for a quieter life in a small town in Idaho. It all started during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they took a vacay to Idaho and realized having a nature-filled environment was truly ideal for their family.
“We fall in love with nature and the mountains and this entire new life,” the Landman actress said. “We totally pivoted and went for it. We literally had our house [in California] for less than a year. We went back to L.A. and we realized we wanted to put our family first.”
She added, “Our life is so different there and it’s a small town, and it kind of holds you to a different type of accountability. It’s something that me and Hayes really wanted to do for our children, so we did. We just believe in raising them that way.”
For those who don’t know, Larter and her husband Hayes MacArthur married on 2009 after four years together (and after meeting on the set of National Lampoon’s Homo Erectus). Since then, they’ve welcomed two children named Theodore Hayes MacArthur, born in 2010, and Vivienne Margaret MacArthur, born in 2015.
In a recent interview with Schon Magazine, Larter talked about her complex character, Angela in Landman, and how different her parenting style is from her new character.
“We’re complete opposites when it comes to motherhood,” she said. “Angela’s approach is endearing because she’s trying, but it’s so far from the way I parent. For me, it was about trusting the process and embracing this very different perspective on motherhood.”
