Hoosick Falls woman arrested for alleged drug possession
HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office arrested a Hoosick Falls woman on Tuesday who allegedly possessed felony-weight controlled substances. Kandie L. Stowell, 40, is facing multiple charges.
Deputies said this is Stowell's second narcotics arrest in a year after they conducted a three-month-long narcotics investigation. Stowell was scheduled for probation sentencing on Wednesday in connection to her prior offense, but deputies arrested her after securing a search warrant for Fifth Street residence.
During the search, deputies recovered roughly 80 grams of cocaine and fentanyl, other narcotics and stimulants, $4,134 in cash, drug paraphernalia, scales, and packaging materials. Hoosick Falls Police Department assisted deputies in the search.
Following her arrest, Stowell was arraigned in Grafton Town Court. Rensselaer County Assistant District Attorney Spencer Lane asked Judge Francis Higgins to remand her to the Rensselaer County Jail. Higgins released Stowell on her own recognizance.

- Four counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument
