She needed to progress beyond the Top 16 of the competition to earn enough points to turn professional this year.
Sherrock, who lives in the same city, was thumped 6-1 by James Beeton in the round of 64.
Lisa Ashton is the only woman who has earned a Tour Card, which she last achieved five years ago.
There are a total of 31 players who were on the 2024 Tour but are not part of this year’s elite.
Dutch double Vincent van der Voort and Jeffrey de Zwaan are among those to miss out.
While Aussie ace Simon Whitlock also failed to make the grade, just weeks on from missing his first PDC World Championship since 2009
The Wizard – famed for his long hair and huge beard – denied rumours last week he was contemplating retirement.

He told Online Darts.”I will go to Q-School, and I’ll try to get my card back.
“If not, then I’ve got other options. Seniors Tour, Modus [Super Series] and other things.
“It has opened a lot of doors for me, and I’m excited to try new things and have a hunger to win in different events now.
“So it’s actually a really good thing for me.”
Sherrock rose to national prominence in 2019 after becoming the first woman to beat a man at a World Darts Championships.
Known as the Queen of the Palace, the 30-year-old has not been able to replicate that form over recent seasons.
