Body found in search for woman missing for a week
A body has been found during the search for a 57-year-old woman last seen leaving home last weekend.
Lynda, whose last name was not released, was pictured wearing a black and white tiger print coat and red hat in CCTV stills.
Bury Police said today: ‘A body has sadly been found in the search for missing Lynda.
‘Her next of kin are aware and a file has been passed to the coroner.
‘Our thoughts remain with Lynda’s family at this difficult time. Thank you to those who shared our appeals.’
The search for Lynda had lasted a week, after she was last seen departing her home on Parish Drive in Ainsworth, near Bolton, Greater Manchester.
After she left home at midday on Saturday January 4, she was missing for just over a week.
At the time, the UK was going through an unseasonably cold snap with temperatures plunging.
