Marcel and Rebecca, who boasts over 500,000 followers on Instagram, started dating in 2019.
The couple share a son, Roman, who they welcomed back in 2021 and a little over a year later they tied the knot.
Things were going well for the couple until January 2024 when Rebecca was caught being ‘unfaithful’ to the reality TV star with rapper Slim Jxmmi.
The mother of Slim’s child, KD, had claimed that Rebecca had sent “intimate messages” to her child’s father.
KD, took to her social media platforms to share what she had uncovered – even tagging Rebecca and Marcel in the posts for them to see.
A source at the time, told The Mirror: “Marcel is absolutely devastated.
“Rebecca was his life and he’d changed so many things about his lifestyle to make her happy.
“Everything he did, everything he worked for was for his wife and his son.
“The poor guy feels like he’s in a nightmare and he keeps hoping he’ll wake up.
“For him to know that Rebecca was telling another man she loves him, and then spent Valentine’s Day with him has completely broken him.
“He doesn’t know what he’s going to do now but he’s moved out of the family home and is living with friends at the moment.”
In March 2024, Rebecca made headlines when she publicly apologised for what she called a “huge mistake” and admitted to “foolish” actions after the cheating allegations surfaced.
The exact timing of their split remains a mystery, but fans were surprised to hear that Marcel is heading back into the villa, since he is still legally married to Rebecca.
It turns out that the pair are currently in the process of divorcing.
Chatting exclusively to The Sun, Love Island executive producer Mike Spencer had urged fans to “give the guy a break” and insisted Marcel is a single man.
Marcel took part in the third series of the ITV2 dating show back in 2017.
He coupled up with the likes of Olivia Attwood and Montana Brown, before finding love with Gabby Allen.
The former couple ended up placing fourth on the show, but split months after returning to the UK.
Now the pair are set to meet again in what could be a very frosty reunion, with Gabby also signing up for this year’s series.
Gabby had slammed her ex Marcel over a “big betrayal of trust” ahead of Love Island All Stars.
Speaking to The Sun as she prepares for her second show stint, she confessed that she is preparing for the moment her and Marcel come face-to-face.
She said: “I haven’t seen him for six years, so I don’t know how I’m going to feel when I see him.
“It was a big betrayal of trust. Even though I’m over it now, it was something that happened.”
The reality beauty insists there are “no hard feelings” on her part and is hoping that she and Marcel can build a friendship.
