Macy Gray snubs Masked Singer in VERY telling move after storming off in explosive ‘diva strop’
MACY Gray has seemingly cut ties with The Masked Singer with one telling move after her elimination.
The iconic US singer shocked judges and viewers alike on Saturday night by walking off stage before her unmasking.

After her exit, Macy has refused to take part in any exit interviews related to the show – including her scheduled appearance on The AfterMask, the aftershow spin-off.
Instead, presenter Harriet Rose interviews the show’s vocal coach to fill up the space meant for Macy, with an incredibly awkward clip at the end seeing her waiting for the singer to leave the stage, only to get snubbed.
Ahead of the moment, Harriet runs into series producer Dan Nettleton, asking him: “What’s going on? Can you give me any info?” noting he looks “scared to answer these questions”.
Dan awkwardly shuffles before laughing: “Um… Nothing! Nothing to worry about here.”
Harriet then says “Fantastic! Oh I feel relaxed now.”
But the KISS FM DJ is left treading water as moments later she explains to the camera: “[Macy’s] just coming off stage now but I don’t think we’re going to get an interview with her.
“What a legend, she smashed that last performance.”
As Harriet speaks, Macy is walking at speed behind her with a crew in tow with her head down, still in costume.
Harriet is left floundering as she tries to make the best of the moment, ultimately resulting in her awkwardly sticking her tongue out and giving the cameras a thumbs up.
Macy also notably did not provide an exit interview with The Masked Singer press team, which is tradition for all eliminated contestants.
She’s also failed to post anything about her stint on social media, instead posting updates on the LA wildfires and appealing to her followers to contribute to the relief effort.
What Went Wrong
This was Macy’s third time appearing on the franchise, previously starring as Atlantis on the Australian version of the show in 2021, and Sea Queen in the US in 2023.
She reportedly refused to leave the Australian version when she was eliminated as well.
On Saturday, instead of sticking around for the reveal, Macy stormed off the stage, leaving the judges with stunned looks on their faces.
Crew members needed an hour to coax her back for the unmasking, where she gave blunt, one-word answers before the show ended.

Judge Maya Jama tried to soften the blow of the elimination by calling her “an icon and an idol” and sharing she used to sing Macy’s songs growing up.
“It’s an unmistakeable voice, that is the thing!” shared Joel, hinting at them being able to recognise her may be why she was eliminated so early.
Jonathan Ross also spoke about the clues, noting that one of the clues was that she had a song in Shrek, but when asked which one it was, Macy simply responded: “I forget”.
However, her upset was clear for viewers, with the star looking red-eyed as she nodded to the judges before singing her final song.
Fans later branded the moment “f**king awkward”.
A source from the set told The Sun: “When Macy stormed off stage everyone was frozen in shock but as soon as she reached backstage, crew removed her mask so they could talk her down.
“Macy was almost shell-shocked to start with and was basically gutted to be out so early because she really enjoyed being on the American version – when obviously she did brilliantly – so was totally blindsided.”
“It was the shock of it for her as well as the upset and in that moment she had a very raw, human reaction and wanted out,” they added.
The Masked Singer continues Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
Who has left The Masked Singer 2025 so far?
Much to the delight of telly fans, The Masked Singer is back in 2025.
Twelve celebrities have been hidden behind intricate costumes, with their identities concealed.
Sadly, not all of this year’s whacky and wonderful characters can make it to the end of the show, as there can only be one winner.
Here’s who has been unmasked so far:
Pegasus – the mythical horse was revealed to be Prue Leith, with judge Jonathan Ross correctly guessing her identity
Spag Bol – this character was first to be unmasked and was none other than Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway.
Plus there was one extra unmasking this season, with Giant Joel – a caricature of host Joel Dommett – unveiled as double-double Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah.
