Fashion fans race to Tesco for £14 Skims dupes in ‘exact same’ material & even Love Island stars are clearing the rails
THEIR long-sleeved tops will set you back a whopping £68.
So it’s little wonder fashion fans are racing to Tesco to get their hands on a range of Skims dupes, with prices starting from just £14.
And even Love Island stars are hitting the supermarket in search of the copycat items – which are apparently made from the “exact same” buttery soft material.
Siannise Fudge, who appeared on the matchmaking show back in 2020, took to her TikTok page to share a video of herself sharing her new purchases.
“Girls, run to Tesco’s F&F, cause they have Skims dupes!” she began.
“I managed to grab quite a few items in my size, which I was so happy about.”
She kicked off her haul with the contour bodysuit, as she said the £14 item was the “same buttery, soft, smoothing material”.
As well as the nude, short-sleeved bodysuit, she picked it up in black, as well as nabbing the long-sleeved body too.
“Honestly, such a good dupe,” Siannise continued.
“I cannot believe how similar to Skims this is.
“I mean, this is screaming Skims, right?”
She also picked up some of the underwear to try out, including the smoothing bralette in four different colours – with each two pack costing just £14.
“Honestly, if you could just feel the material, they are just so soft, they’re stretchy,” she said.
“It’s that buttery material.
” I’m absolutely obsessed.I cannot wait to wear these.
“And I’ve just saved myself a fortune!”
Siannise also highlighted the label inside the products, which highlight the charity CoppaFeel! in a bid to get people to check their breasts for any lumps.
“Every time you wear these items, not just the bralettes or the crop tops, but even the body suits, always look at this label and it will give you that reminder,” she said.
The success of SKIMS
Initially conceived as a vanity project by Kim Kardashian, Skims has metamorphosed into one of the most sought-after lingerie brands, enlisting high-profile names like Jude Bellingham and Nicola Coughlan.
The brand celebrates bodies of all shapes and sizes, and Nicola’s natural curves make her a perfect fit.
Nicola’s stunning debut in a floral “goddess” campaign came just days after Jude Bellingham, the 20-year-old England football star, showcased the men’s line.
Kim praised Nicola, saying: “Nicola is such an inspiration on screen and beyond, and she really brought the campaign to life with her undeniable beauty and energy.”
Since its 2019 launch, Skims has attracted a star-studded roster including Kate Moss, Usher, and Lana Del Rey.
The brand’s value has soared to £3 billion, with a 50% increase in sales last year. Unlike the glitzy allure of premium brands like Victoria’s Secret, Skims excels by blending comfort with subtle elegance, bolstered by savvy viral campaigns.
Kim’s campaign promoting a faux perky nipple bra sparked diverse reactions. Some women found the £64 bra empowering, while others criticised it for objectifying women. Personally, I found it uplifting—both literally and figuratively.
The £70 Skims waist trainer also proved popular, especially among new mothers. Kim revealed she often gifts it to friends post-pregnancy, praising its ability to make her feel “snatched.” Despite health concerns, the corset sold out rapidly online.
Skims has expanded beyond lingerie to include swimwear, dresses, loungewear, PJs, and menswear. The brand’s commitment to inclusivity, featuring a diverse range of celebs and models, resonates with a multi-generational audience.
A notable collaboration with Italian luxury fashion house Fendi in November 2021 further elevated Skims’ profile. The limited collection, starting at $950 (£747), sold out within 24 hours, generating over a million dollars in sales within minutes.
In summary, Skims’ success lies in its unique blend of inclusivity, comfort, and clever marketing, ensuring its place as a dominant force in the fashion industry.
“If you have not checked your boobs today, this is your reminder, because it honestly really, really can save your life.”
“They look so good,” someone commented on Siannise’s video.
“Honestly such a good dupe!!” she replied.
“Would love a try on – I bought the Skims bra in the sale and it’s the best bra I’ve ever had,” another wrote.
“I would love to know how these compare – would be great as a cheaper alternative as Skims is so expensive.”
“Yep I got these!!!” a third wrote.
“They’re so nice – the chocolate one is my fave.”
“I’ve already ran to go and get them, you are stunning,” someone else gushed.
