Local shops make sure Bills fans are fed for playoffs
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Businesses across Western New York are making sure Bills fans are fed for Buffalo's playoff game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
La Nova on West Ferry Street is one of the many places gearing up for gameday.
"It's good for businesses, it's good for bars, restaurants, hotels. It's great for the city," said La Nova general manager Dave Alessi.
The pizza place plans on serving up thousands of pizzas and over 5,000 pounds of chicken wings on Sunday.
"Obviously with the 1 o'clock start, things get started really early around here and we will be busy throughout the game. And when the Bills win, we will be busy for the entire day," Alessi said.
At The Market in the Square in West Seneca, feeding Bills fans is a labor of love.
"It's Buffalo red, white and blue," said Brian Kusmierski, the owner of the Market in the Square. "We make racks and racks of cookies, racks and racks of pastry hearts. All made here fresh, ready to go."
From pastries to bagels, to cups and winter accessories, the store has fans covered. All they need now is for the Bills to win.
"It's a universal statement. 'Go Bills' means hello, goodbye, thanks for coming. It's sort of a generic thing, so we're really into it, especially for this year," Kusmierski said. "We've got high hopes and we're hoping that the Bills are going to be there for us."
