Man with gun in lap crashes stolen SUV into cop car, Portland Police say
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man driving in a stolen SUV allegedly rammed a Portland Police Bureau vehicle and fled from officers before crashing into a parked car in Southeast Portland on Sunday, according to PPB’s East Precinct.
The crash occurred near the intersection of 34th Ave. and Insley Street. The driver was found with a gun in his lap following the crash and was arrested, PPB said.
“The driver of this stolen SUV rammed a PPB vehicle and drove recklessly trying to elude officers on a wheel worn down to the rim,” PPB’s East Precinct shared on social media.
No one was injured during the ordeal. The driver’s identity has not been released at this time. Criminal charges against the suspect are pending, police said.
