The Good Ship Murder fans are left raging at hit drama returns and they issue urgent demand to Channel 5 bosses
VIEWERS of The Good Ship Murder were left fuming after season two kicked off – and promptly issued a stark plea to show bosses.
The hit murder mystery drama, which stars ex Coronation Street actors Shayne Ward, 40, and Catherine Tyldesley, 41, follows the crime-solving duo as they investigate crimes aboard a luxury cruise ship.

Yet as it was broadcast at 9pm on Channel 5, this prompted a huge schedule clash for those torn between watching the murder mystery drama and eerie reality series The Traitors, broadcast at the same time on rival channel BBC One.
One claimed they were already “too invested” in the latter – which kicked off on New Year’s Day – to tune in to strictly star Shayne’s latest acting project.
They took to X to post: “Can someone explain to me why the first episode of #TheGoodShipMurder is on the same time as The Traitors?
“I’m already invested in the traitors so switching off sorry Shayne!”
Another put: “The biggest problem with #TheGoodShipMurder is that it clashes with The Traitors!
“Not the best planning is it CH5?”
One helpful fan then tried to suggest: “You can get it on 5 plus one or maybe late on My5.”
Both shows aired for an hour in the prime-time telly slot.
Yet those who did tune in to the sea-based drama were left hugely satisfied with their choice.
Another took to X to post: “Just a relaxing easy vibe with gorgeous scenery.”
Another added: “Well that was insanely good! So happy to see
@shayneTward back doing what he does best!”
Back in April, The Sun exclusively confirmed how The Good Ship Murder had been re-commissioned for both season two and three.
Mike Benson, from makers Clapperboard, said: “Series one was something of a journey – or mid-price cruise – into the unknown, not least trying to film a drama on a cruise ship with 6,000 holidaymakers heading to eight different countries.”

PLOT
The Good Ship Murder follows former detective Jack Grayling who is living his best life working as an entertainer on a cruise ship.
There he meets First Officer Kate Woods, a woman in a man’s world, with plenty to prove.
Life on the ship is exciting and glamorous but there are jealousies, rivalries and deep divides hidden below the surface.
Things take a turn for the worst when the ship docks at its first port of call, only for a passenger to be found murdered.
This tragedy is followed by more murders and unlikely duo Jack and Kate must join together to solve the mysteries.
C5 exec Paul Testar added: “We’re excited to be bringing this series back.”
Season two also sees Claire Sweeney return as the cruise director and Ross Adams joins from Hollyoaks in his first role since quitting the C4 soap.
TRAITOR TWIST
Meanwhile, those who opted for the Channel 5 show over The Traitors on Friday missed a huge show twist on Claudia Winkleman‘s BBC series.
After The Traitors were told there was no murder, they instead nominated four contestants for an “in plain sight” killing.
Alexander, Anna, Fozia and Leon were selected by Traitors Linda and Minah as potential murder victims.
Yet the fate of two remains hanging in the balance until the next episode on Wednesday.
Following the show, fans suspected Linda could be in trouble following a “schoolboy error” which could reveal her Traitor identity.
