Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter reveals baby daughter’s unique name after welcoming her via c-section
HOLLYOAKS star Jorgie Porter has revealed her baby daughter’s beautiful and unique name, after welcoming her via c-section.
The actress, who has played Theresa McQueen in the Channel 4 soap on and off since 2008, was spotted pushing a pram in Manchester this week.
The actress is currently on maternity leave from the soap, and gave birth to a daughter last month.
And now, she’s revealed her daughter’s name is Peony and explained the meaning behind it.
Jorgie explained: “We’d not heard of anyone with the name Peony and I love the flowers, they’re so beautiful.
“But we were literally desperate to tell people her name before someone else had a baby and chose it before us! We didn’t give her a middle name because she’s Peony Porter Piotrowski which is already quite a lot for a kid to say, isn’t it?”
Jorgie continued to tell OK! that she felt pregnant for “the longest time,” adding: “Margot Robbie had her baby about a week after she announced her pregnancy – I was pregnant for what felt like 100 years!”
Jorgie confirmed her safe little arrival on the 11th December as she wrote on Instagram: “She’s here …..! We are complete. Thank you to everyone at Wigan hospital.”
Jorgie also lavished praise on her midwife, Sandi.
She added: “Especially @sandi_goulding who is our everything. I couldn’t of asked for a better day x x”
Jorgie and her fiance Ollie Piotrowski are already parents to son Forest, who was born in November 2022.
Jorgie revealed she was pregnant back in May last year in the final episode of ITVBe reality series, Drama Queens.
The show followed her and several other young female soap stars in their lives away from the show.
She told the camera: “So guys… guess what? I am pregnant. And I am a little bit moody, not full mood.”
Ollie was then seeing touching her tummy, as the couple revealed they were excited but also “scared”.
Becoming a mum has been an emotional journey for Jorgie, as she miscarried quads in 2021 – a year before she welcomed Forest.
