Jobstreet report: Supportive, holistic work environment key to retaining talent
MANILA, Philippines – More Filipino workers are looking for a stable work environment that can offer various upskilling opportunities, according to a report by Jobstreet by SEEK.
The Decoding Global Talent Report: GenAI Edition found that around 40% of Filipino workers are willing to set aside time to learn new skills at least once a week. It also said that Filipino workers are most interested in developing their analytical and project management skills, among others.
Jobstreet by SEEK believes that offering upskilling initiatives will help boost employee morale and foster long-term commitment to employers.
The Decoding Global Talent Report: GenAI Edition surveyed over 6,000 Filipino workers of various ages nationwide.
A stable, supportive environment
Satisfied employees are 49% less likely to consider leaving their current jobs. This is why Jobstreet by SEEK emphasized that factors beyond compensation such as work-life balance are crucial to retaining talent.
The study also found that a big majority or 67% of Filipino employees prefer having a stable job that offers work-life balance. Workers are more likely to stay in a company if it offers flexible working options such as hybrid and work-from-home.
The report also found that employees are prioritizing companies that offer support for their mental health and overall well-being.
“The commitment to growth and adaptability is essential for retaining talent and equipping individuals to adjust and thrive in an ever-changing work environment,” said Joey Yusingco, Jobstreet’s marketing head in the Philippines.
Yusingco believes that employers can nurture a supportive work environment by establishing cross-cultural teams and offering access to stress management and psychological safety materials.
“By nurturing a robust learning culture, hirers can ensure their employees see a bright future within the organization, leading to higher engagement and retention,” he said. – Rappler.com
