‘I want to fight him again’: Haney hopes to get revenge on Garcia
Devin Haney has an ongoing lawsuit against Ryan Garcia, but still wants a chance to get payback in the ring.
As Devin Haney plans for his return to boxing after a hiatus, he talks to iFL TV about the offers he’s weighing, his ongoing dispute with Ryan Garcia, and more. Haney, who is currently fielding a pitch from Turki Alalshikh to be featured on a Riyadh Season event expects to soon decide on his direction.
Haney on if he intends to fight on a BLK Prime card for his next fight
“We got an offer from BLK Prime for March. I’m here to meet (Alalshikh), that’s why I’m in the UK. He has a Ring Magazine event and so he flew me here and my team here to meet and talk about what’s next.
“As we know, (Alalshikh) is going amazing things out in Saudi, even in America as well, in boxing, so hopefully we can put something together.”
On his lawsuit against Ryan Garcia and the outcome he’s looking for
“My team take care of that, my main thing is to take care of things in the ring and let my team worry about that and take care of that. At the end of the day, me being a fighter, I want get-back in the ring. I want to fight him again and I want to win. That’s how I want justice to be done.”
On if he wants the rematch with Garcia this year
“If he’s clean, yeah. We want to be on an even playing ground, I think that’s important and I’m an advocate for it because I experienced actually being cheated, experienced somebody being on PEDs.”
