Shawn Johnson’s Son Jett Is a Human Snow-Scraper in the Funniest New Video & People Had Big Opinions
Who needs a snow brush or an ice scraper when you have a toddler on hand? Shawn Johnson and Andrew East’s 3-year-old son Jett is apparently the perfect stand-in to remove snow quickly from the family’s car, and people had big feelings about the funny video.
“Peak childhood,” the retired NFL player wrote over a video on Instagram today. In the clip, East walks with Jett out in their snow-covered driveway in Nashville. Both are wearing heavy coats, hats, and snow boots as they brace for the weather.
When they get close to the family van, East lifts up Jett by his coat and places him on the hood of the car. As Jett stays as straight as he can, East moves the little boy side to side to remove all the snow from that area. Then he slides the toddler to the windshield, using his body to wipe the snow like windshield wipers. East repeats this process on the other side, then holds Jett as he walks along the side windows to wipe the snow off there as well.
“It’s a pretty good option for snow removal tbh #kids #father #son #snow #family … is there snow on the ground where you live?” East captioned the cute video.
Some people were not happy about East using his son as a human snow-scraper, even though the whole thing looked like it was done all in good fun. “Does His Mama know ???” one person asked. Someone else wrote, “Say goodbye to paint job, but funny.”
“Paint demolished and I’m not even that guy. Lol,” another person commented. Who even cares about a scratch or two when you’re having this much fun?!
Most of the comments were super supportive. “PLEASE don’t do this! Your child will get used to the feeling of being a snow angel and rise to a degree of fabulousness that cannot be contained or comprehended!” one person quipped.
Another person jokingly wrote, “This is actually a horrible idea because your child will learn what a healthy, fun father looks like and grow up loving the outdoors instead of screens.” Someone else commented, “I cannot believe you subjected your child to an awesome core memory. The audacity.”
In addition to Jett, Johnson and East are also parents to daughter Drew, 5, and son Barrett, “Bear,” 1. They make relatable and funny content about parenting, like early this week when the former Olympic gymnast dressed up as a gladiator, complete with a helmet and a stick horse. “Mom suiting up for another day of parenting boys be like…” it was captioned. As a boy mom, I can confirm this is true!
In an interview with E! News in September, Johnson revealed that Jett has some ideas in mind for what he wants to do when he grows up that match his adventurous personality. “Either a fast airplane pilot, a fast car driver or a fast motorcycle driver,” she told the outlet.
She also shared that her kids are “getting into an age that’s so fun” as they learn more and their personalities continue to develop, although it’s a little bittersweet. “You are losing your baby because they’re growing up,” Johnson said. “But then you’re also gaining this human that is learning and maturing and becoming their own little thing. It’s so cool to see and it’s so fun to be challenged with the responsibility to foster that and grow who they are.”
These celebrities are focused on raising their kids to be good humans.
