Stacks Espresso Bar acquires Café Hollywood property
Stacks Espresso Bar, 260 Lark Street, will soon be relocating to the Café Hollywood property, 275 Lark Street. The business announced the relocation as a way to expand offerings and productivity in the new year.
40 mocktails to try this Dry January in the Capital Region
Whether you’re participating in dry January or just not big on drinking, mocktails or non-alcoholic drinks are available at many restaurants and bars. Don’t let a lack of alcohol stop you from having a great time at happy hour or weekend brunch.
New small-scale sake bar opening in Troy
A new sake bar is set to open on Second Street in Troy. The owner, Vic Christopher, says he hopes to open the bar at the end of February, shortly after he returns from a trip to Tokyo, Japan.
New Korean barbecue spot opening in Colonie
Seoul Korean BBQ Restaurant is soon opening in Colonie’s Village Square at 1770 Central Avenue. The restaurant is 100% women-owned and minority-owned.
Scotia restaurant to close temporarily after 54 years
Carm’s in Scotia recently announced that it will be closing its Freemans Bridge location after 54 years. The owners say the property was sold.
New café opening in downtown Saratoga Springs
The founder of PDT Catering is opening up a café in downtown Saratoga Springs. Chef Adam Foti is set to open PDT Maison at 35 Maple Avenue in the former Farmers Hardware building.
Stuffed bagel shop opens permanent location in Kingston
Following the success of a popup stuffed bagel shop on Broadway, Moonrise Bagels have decided to make it a permanent business decision. “Just the Stuffed” will reopen Thursday with new menu items and new hours.
Queer-founded community café now open in Pittsfield
WANDER Berkshires, a queer, transgender-founded community space, has set its official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for January 21 at 10 a.m. It is in downtown Pittsfield at 34 Depot Street in Suite 101.
KC’s Pub and Grill closes at Van Schaick Island
KC’s Pub and Grill at the Van Schaick Island Country Club in Cohoes has permanently closed its doors. The restaurant’s owners, Brian and Kristy, made the announcement in a Facebook post on Monday.
Barbecue food truck opening permanent spot in Guilderland
Big D’s Meats BBQ is opening up a permanent, year-round location. The business will be at 1810 Western Avenue in Guilderland.
Participating restaurants for the Schenectady Soup Stroll
The ninth annual Schenectady Soup Stroll is set for Saturday, January 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Restaurants in downtown Schenectady will be serving up their unique soup recipes.
