An Eerily Prophetic Resurfaced Interview With Kim Kardashian Reveals Where Her Mind Is Amid Disaster
Kim Kardashian may be facing a lot of backlash and criticism amid the ongoing wildfires tearing through Los Angeles, but a resurfaced interview of the TV personality is also giving people goosebumps. In 2023, the multi-hyphenate and mom of four sat down with Jay Shetty for his On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast and spoke about her various experiences with wildfire evacuations.
An eerie clip of that conversation is now making its way around social media, and it sheds a little light on where Kardashian’s head probably is — including what she would pack up if she were forced to evacuate right now.
“The first time, I packed up my entire shoe and bag closet, and a lot of them because they were memories, stuff from my [late dad Robert Kardashian], stuff in high school, but all designer stuff,” Kardashian said, adding that she also took videos and photos that weren’t digitized.
The second time, she trimmed down the packing list … marginally. “[I packed] up the designer stuff, but [left some] of the clothes. You know, I don’t really need all the clothes, but I packed for a hotel for months. Bags and every designer thing that I had had to come.”
The third time, the Kardashian family had to evacuate, Kim left behind her bags and shoes. “I don’t need them,” she told Shetty. “We got all the photos. We got my little blankie [from] when I was little, you know, the kids’ stuff.”
As for the fourth time? That’s when things really changed.
“Leave everything,” she insisted. “Me and my babies, that’s all I need.” As long as she has her four kids — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm — who she shares with ex-husband Kanye West, “we’re good.”
“Now I’m like, nothing is worth it,” she continued. “Nothing is important.”
Talk about a major mind shift. The SKIMS founder (who was widely criticized for promoting SKIMS during the current natural disaster) seems to be in a totally different place in her life. “And I think that comes from life experiences, scary experiences, things shaking you to your core to make you realize that nothing is important,” she concluded.
Hopefully, the Kardashians don’t have to evacuate, but if the fires continue and she does have to pack up, it’s nice to hear that the transformative power of motherhood has reset her priorities.
