Schodack Police Department appoints new police chief
SCHODACK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schodack Police Department has a new Chief of Police. Ralph Southworth, a Schodack native, was promoted from Assistant Chief to Chief.
The police department said Chief Southworth is committed to strengthening the connection between the department and the community. He also wants to foster transparency and protect the safety and well-being of Schodack residents.
Southworth was previously a Detective for the Troy Police Department. He retired after 20 years with the department and there was a walkout ceremony for him on July 19, 2024.
